Your data, treated like production.
No legalese walls, no dark patterns, no data we don't need. This page explains — in plain language — what we collect, why, and the rights you keep. It's short, because there isn't much to disclose.
What we collect
Only what you hand us — contact-form details here, and for Bricks merchants, the social accounts you explicitly connect. Nothing scraped, nothing bought.
What we never do
No selling data, no ad networks, no cross-site tracking pixels, no dark patterns. Your inbox is not a growth channel.
How it's protected
Encrypted in transit, stored with vetted infrastructure providers, and accessible only to the people who reply to you.
Your rights
Access, correct, export, or delete your data — one email, no forms, no friction. We answer within days, not months.
Who we are
WesternWells is a software engineering studio that designs, builds, and scales production-grade systems. This policy covers westernwells.io and describes what happens to any personal data you share with us through it.
We wrote this the way we write software: in plain language, with nothing hidden in the fine print. If anything here is unclear, ask us — we read every message.
What we collect
On this website, we collect personal data in exactly one place: the contact form. (Our product's handling of connected Instagram and WhatsApp accounts is covered in Platform Data below.) When you reach out, we receive what you type — typically:
- Your name and email address
- What you want to build, your timeline, and project stage
- Anything else you choose to include in your message
Beyond that, our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested) for security and reliability — the same logs virtually every website on the internet produces. We don't use them to identify or profile you.
How we use it
Your data is used for precisely three things:
- Replying to you. Your message goes to our inbox and we respond — usually within 24 hours.
- Scoping your project. The details you share help us prepare a useful first conversation instead of a generic one.
- Keeping the site running. Server logs help us detect abuse and diagnose outages.
That's the whole list. We don't add you to newsletters you didn't ask for, and we don't share your details with“selected partners.”
Platform Data (Instagram & WhatsApp)
Bricks, our social commerce marketplace, lets merchants connect their own Instagram professional accounts and WhatsApp Business accounts so their customer conversations appear inside their Bricks inbox. When a merchant connects an account, we receive data from Meta's platforms (via the Instagram Messaging API and the WhatsApp Cloud API):
- Messages sent to the merchant's connected account, so we can display them in that merchant's inbox and deliver their replies
- Basic account and profile information (such as the account name and ID) needed to route conversations to the right merchant
How we use it — and how we don't:
- Merchant-scoped access. Each merchant sees only conversations from accounts they connected themselves. No other merchant, and no other Bricks user, can see them.
- One purpose. Platform Data is used solely to provide the inbox and messaging features the merchant signed up for — never for advertising, never sold, never shared with third parties beyond the infrastructure that runs the service.
- Disconnect any time. A merchant can disconnect an account at any point; we stop receiving new data immediately and delete stored Platform Data for that account on request, and in any case per our retention schedule.
- Meta's rules apply. Our use of this data is governed by Meta's Platform Terms and Developer Policies, alongside applicable data-protection law (including the Nigeria Data Protection Act).
Deletion requests for Platform Data work the same way as everything else in this policy: one email to contact@westernwells.io.
Retention & security
Contact messages live in our inbox for as long as the conversation — or the working relationship that follows — is active. If nothing comes of it, we periodically clear old enquiries. Server logs rotate automatically on our provider's standard schedule.
All traffic to the site is encrypted with TLS. Access to enquiries is limited to the small senior team that actually replies to them. We apply the same discipline to your data that we apply to our clients' production systems — least privilege, no sprawl.
Your rights
Wherever you are, we extend the same rights to everyone. You can ask us to:
- Tell you what data we hold about you
- Correct anything that's inaccurate
- Export it in a portable format
- Delete it entirely
One email to contact@westernwells.io does it. No verification maze, no 30-page forms. If you're in a jurisdiction with stronger rules (GDPR, CCPA, and friends), those apply too — including the right to complain to your local supervisory authority.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle data, we'll update this page and the“last updated” date at the top. Material changes — anything that would genuinely surprise you — get a clear notice on the site, not a silent edit.
